North Shore Middle School

To keep families, staff, and community members up to date with all of the great things happening in Northshore, Interim Superintendent Michael Tolley maintains a weekly blog. Congratulations to all Northshore students selected by the Washington Music Educators Association to participate in All-State and Junior All-State performing groups. In addition to these state-wide ensembles, a number of high school students are also selected by the National Association for Music Education to participate in All-Northwest performing groups. "We’re teaching students fundamental tools like problem solving, outside of the box thinking and collaboration which are preparing them to be successful not just in the world around them today, but also for theoretical scenarios that are yet to be built." They volunteer hundreds of hours and an immeasurable amount of energy to assure that schools are providing the best education for children.

WATCH D.O.G.S. is an innovative father involvement, educational initiative of the National Center for Fathering. The goal is to provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important. Galena Park ISD regularly provides mass notifications to parents, guardians, students, and faculty regarding weather closures, threat situations, event scheduling, or to provide other important education-related information. These messages not only drive positive educational outcomes, they can also save lives.

Kenmore Middle School

There are community supports for mental health, suicide prevention, substance abuse, self-harm and more. Beyond the classroom, students have the opportunity to explore their hobbies and interests, express themselves creatively, and participate in their favorite sports in our expansive co-curricular offerings. As they prepare for their high school years, they grow into curious, competent young adults eager to make a difference and take their place in their Jewish community. The Hartland Lakeside School District’s Mission is to provide a diverse and dynamic educational program that meets the unique learning styles of all students.

A successful school system works in partnership with students, parents, staff and community members. You are invited to celebrate the official open house and ribbon cutting for Ruby Bridges Elementary on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 5-7 p.m. We appreciate the community's support of the 2018 Capital Bond and look forward to celebrating the learning that is taking place in the completed school, which serves 450 students.

Our actions are grounded in a strong belief in the capacity of every student to achieve academic and social-emotional success that prepares them to thrive in a world yet to be imagined. The program is designed to help them feel comfortable as they begin their middle school experience. Self-advocacy, work readiness, social emotional skills, and IEP goals are incorporated into daily activities.

You are invited to participate in online and in-person town halls to provide feedback directly to the search firm on Tuesday, January 10 at Northshore Middle School. TEA's Parent Portal will have EOC test results available to students and parents on Tuesday, June 15, and STAAR 3-8 scores will be available on Saturday, June 26.

On Wednesday, October 12th, registration will open online to participate in World Language Competency Testing here in Northshore. This is an opportunity for students who can read, write, listen and speak a language other than English to earn up to four competency credits and/or the Seal of Biliteracy designation on their high school transcript. The Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic.
